Welcome to our new Website!
I have been working to update the look and feel of our site. The new site also renders nicely on a smart phone. Please let me know items you are looking for and I will add them in. Simple respond to the post with a comment. Thanks for your feedback.
This has been one of my favorite starts to school in the eight years I have been at Tierra Bonita. It's like the students have been in school for over a month. We couldn't be happier. At the end of each week, classrooms with perfect punctuality (students who come to school on time and ready to learn) will earn a perfect star for their classroom door. Remember, school begins at 7:40 AM.
Another BIG thanks for your efforts in finding a spot on the street and walking to pick up your children. It truly has made a difference in keeping the front lot clear and safe exit for our students! You may also use the pull through pickup at the Twin Peaks parking lot in the afternoon. TBES staff supervise the hill as students wait. With both morning and afternoon drop offs, please pull all the way forward and remain in the car. Give your hugs and kisses at home.
We officially kicked off our Drama Education with our 4/5 students attending the first 11 weeks of instruction. Thanks to your generous donations and our Foundation’s vision, every student (TK-5) will have a drama curriculum taught by two amazing Artists in Residence. At the end of each 11 week session, the students will preform a showcase event. Also, students who want more time with our instructors will be able to attend workshops during their lunch recess.
Lastly, I would like to share another exciting adventure this year made possible because of the partnership between our PTA, Foundation and teachers. Again, through your generous donations last year, every student will get high quality physical education curriculum and activities. The last time our teachers were trained in PE was in 1996. This year, our teachers will have two days of training from educators from San Diego State University with a program called SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids). Along with training, new physical education equipment is being purchased. This program ties in with our overall focus on WELLNESS - ensuring our student are healthy - emotionally, physically and mentally.
